In Teri Baton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon have come together on screen for the first time and their chemistry is good, but in this sci-fi film, the emphasis is on emotions rather than technology, due to which many things seem artificial. And due to lack of credibility the story is unable to impress. Read full review.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jia Review: Scientists are engaged in making different types of robots to make human life convenient. They are being manufactured as per the use and need. Some are already working, but the concept would sound good if a person falls madly in love with it.
The science fiction romantic comedy Teri Baton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, produced by Dinesh Vijan, is also a story based on the same concept of humans and robots, which definitely looks interesting on paper, but has not been realized properly on screen.
Story of TBMAUJ?
Aryan (Shahid Kapoor), a robotic engineer working in Mumbai, is being pressurized by his family to get married. Aryan wants all the qualities in his partner. His boss and aunt Urmila (Dimple Kapadia), living in America, calls Aryan there.
Urmila, the owner of a robotic company, understands the pain of those living alone. Efforts are being made to create human-like robots to help them. Aryan meets Sifra (Kriti Sanon) when he reaches Urmila’s house. After spending some time with her, Aryan falls in love with her. The full name of Sifra is Super Intelligent Female Automation.
Aryan is heartbroken when he finds out that Sifra is a robot. After returning home, he sends Sifra to India on the pretext of experiment. Introduces her to his relatives at home as his girlfriend. The family also happily accepts the beautiful and cultured Sifra. Just as they are about to get married, Sifra faces a problem with her technology. Aryan’s dreams get hurt.
Where does the Story lose, How is the Screenplay?
In the science fiction film Robot, released about 14 years ago, the war between man and machine was depicted with many interesting twists and turns. Along with this, a fun triangular love story was depicted between scientist Rajinikanth, medical student Aishwarya Rai and robot Rajinikanth.
The special effects of the film were amazing. There have been many films in Hollywood too, in which the devastation caused by machines created by human skills has been shown. The story concept written and directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Shah is good. There are many such moments in between in the story, which bring a smile on the face. However, it has not become reliable.
The beginning of the film is slow. The writers and directors have taken a lot of time to show the story of the family and Aryan’s ambitions and life before the intermission. The company that developed the robot and its functioning seemed quite artificial.
There was a need to make the screenplay tight regarding Aryan’s marriage with Sifra. Writers need to come out of the clichéd rut of cinema of making Aryan’s rich family look like scoundrels. The curiosity and disturbances towards Sifra have been depicted in a very superficial manner.
When Sifra refuses the instructions of Aryan, who is described in the dialogues as a very talented robotic engineer, he attacks her with a weapon instead of a computer. Even the aunt, who has spent 13 years creating this robot, cannot understand the glitch in its programming. This is ridiculous.
How is the Acting?
There is nothing special in Shahid Kapoor’s part as a robotic engineer, but it is good to see him dancing, flirting and being a passionate lover on screen. Kriti Sanon has done justice to her role as a robot.
However, the writers needed to work on his character. Dimple Kapadia’s acting in the role of aunt and Aryan’s boss is weak, but she looks quite stylish. His character is very weak at the writing level. Evergreen actor Dharmendra plays a brief role as Dada.
Rest of the supporting roles actors Rakesh Bedi, Rajesh Kumar, Ashish Verma are in their familiar style. The film is average at the technical level. The song ‘Teri Baton Mein Uljha Jiya’ is promotional. The rest of the songs are simple. When you come out of the theatre, you don’t remember it. There is a hint of a sequel at the end of the film. It would have been better to make this a complete film.
