The fourth film of the ‘Planet of the Apes’ franchise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, is being released this year. Its new trailer has been released on Monday.
The trailer shows glimpses of the power and struggle of apes in the human world. 20th Century Studios’ action adventure film is scheduled to release in theaters on May 10. The film is directed by Wes Ball.
Earth and humans under the control of monkeys
The story of the film shows the time several generations after the reign of the ape Caesar, when the ape species have ruled the earth and humans are forced to live in their shadow.
Some apes still consider humans as their friends, while there are many who hunt humans. Consider them enemies. A young ape rises to save humans from the new ape emperor, but along the way he faces many questions related to his past. The coming times are going to be very important for monkeys and humans.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes stars Owen Teague, Kevin Durand, Peter McKeon and Rick Jaffa. The film will be released in the country along with English in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
When did the Planet of the Apes franchise start?
The franchise began in 2011 with the film Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which was a reboot of the films of the same name. This was the seventh film of this franchise including the old films.
Its sequel film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was released in 2014. In 2017, its third film War for the Planet of the Apes was released. These three films show the story of the chimpanzee Caesar, whose intelligence becomes extremely sharp after an experiment and gradually the other apes, chimpanzees and gorillas also evolve.
Seeing the evolution of the apes as a threat, humans attack them, but Caesar stops them and restores a balance with the help of his human friends. The season manages to create a safe home for all the apes. Caesar dies in the third film.
